Art, Culture, and Government: The New Deal at 75

Per commemorare il 75mo anniversario del “Franklin D. Roosevelt’s New Deal“, l’Archivio di stato statunitense, il National Archives Experience, in collaborazione con il Library of Congress’s American Folklife Center organizza per il 13 e il 14 marzo il simposio: Art, Culture, and Government: The New Deal at 75.

Questa la finalità del simposio:
The symposium at the Library, and similar events, will re-focus attention on the New Deal, the multi-faceted social, cultural, and fiscal recovery programs launched by the Roosevelt administration in 1933, to reform and reinvigorate national life in the wake of the Great Depression.
The Library presentation will feature contemporary scholarship and recent discoveries inspired by the Library’s unparalleled collections of documentary materials from that era. It will highlight the lasting impact this federal initiative has had on culture, documentation, and conservation.

In particolare, l’Archivio di stato americano ha in programma la discussione: Electing FDR: The New Deal Campaign of 1932 e il festival “For a Better America: The New Deal on Film – All-Day Film Festival” , nel quale il “Charles Guggenheim Center for the Documentary Film” presenterà i film prodotti dal governo americano risalenti a quel periodo storico.
